Custom virtual studio design for TriCaster

Recently designed and created virtual studio sets for use with NewTek TriCaster ™

Full HD 1920×1080 multi-angle sets built in Cinema 4D Studio and supplied as TriCaster Virtual Set Editor-ready layered Photoshop files.

Virtual News Studio for Mustard TV

Here is the virtual News studio created for Mustard TV, one of the brand new local TV channels which launched its Freeview service to viewers in Norwich and the Norfolk region in March 2014.

The set was supplied as a TriCaster VSE-ready layered Photoshop document with UV gradient layers in place for each live input (and real-time reflections).

The idea for this studio came from the Mustard TV logo – with a circular desk representing the central hub, with the radiating arcs suggested by the coloured steps each side of the central riser and the curved yellow lightboxes visible in the wide shot. The window behind the presenter reveals a skyline shot (the second live TriCaster input). An optional plasma screen can display a third TriCaster 8000 input if required.

Here’s a couple of images below showing the very rough early designs for this studio set. The original design featured a double-height atrum behind the studio desk, as well as a standing position in one of the ‘wings’. In the end, the throw to the sports presenter was never seen in shot, and the sports bulletin is presented from a different virtual studio entirely. More details on that particular set will follow soon.

Tricaster Virtual Studio Set for the Mustard Show

Here is another virtual studio set created for Mustard TV, one of the brand new local TV channels which launched its Freeview service to viewers in Norwich and the Norfolk region in March 2014. This one is for The Mustard Show.

The set was supplied as a TriCaster VSE-ready layered Photoshop document with .EXR layers in place for each live input. I also supplied a separate Photoshop file which provides the team the ability to drop in new images into the hanging perspex screens from time to time.

This set is actually a slightly modified version of the Sports set I designed for Mustard (images of that one coming soon..).
